A 3 BHK at Sobha Royal Pavilion, room by room

Every photograph on this page is from one handed-over home, a 3 BHK at Sobha Royal Pavilion on Sarjapur Road. The living and dining run as a single room under a stepped, cove-lit false ceiling, with a chandelier of glass discs on a brass bar over a white-topped table on a curved base. One long wall is a white crockery unit with two glass display towers in brass frames and a gold metal sculpture set into a recessed panel. The TV wall opposite is white gloss framed by copper mosaic and fluted wood, with glass bubble pendants on either side. The sofa is a curved beige ribbed piece with two matching armchairs and pouffes, and a gold arched jaali panel is set into a white wall unit.

The kitchen runs round three walls in glossy rose-brown shutters, with a marble-pattern backsplash, a black chimney over a four-burner hob, a fluted amber glass wall cabinet and lighting under the wall units and along the plinth. The main bedroom has a navy quilted headboard wall with gold mirror strips and spiral pendants, and an L-shaped sliding wardrobe in cream and grey-blue glass. A second bedroom has a white fluted arched TV niche over a glass-topped dresser with a desk chair. The children’s room has a peach bunny-ear headboard inside a backlit fluted arch, under cloud-shaped ceiling panels.

Flats, older houses and offices

Bellandur has new apartments and older houses, and the work is different for each. In a new apartment the job can be the complete set: modular kitchen, wardrobes, false ceilings and the living, dining and bedroom interiors, as in the 3 BHK above.

In an older house the job is renovation and remodelling. The older structure stays; the aim is to bring modern design into it, whether that means a fresh look or making the house work better day to day.
